Two days almost down...

Well... yesterday didn't get off to a very good start. I had less than 6 hours sleep (mostly interrupted) and felt rather tired by the time my working day started. A combination of a meeting I needed the car for, exhuastion in the afternoon and household tasks in the evening meant I only got in 4000+ steps! Went to bed feeling disheartened and that this might not be an easy programme to follow, given the varied work I fit into each day, the amount of time I spend at my desk and how much or little sleep I have the night before.
Woke up this morning feeling slightly more motivated but equally tired so decided to have a morning nap on my day off before making lunch for my family and going for a walk with my inspirational friend from church whose footsteps for charity I am following this month.
Yippee!!!!! Managed to 14 033 steps so far today which makes up for my sedentary day yesterday.
As I walked to my friend's house before heading for the woods, I prayed for the people of Bidibidi refugee settlement and for those adminsitering the food programme so that all will have enough to eat. I also prayed for Hope Health Action and their trustees who ensure the charity is well managed and able to fulfill its vision and mission on the ground in Uganda.
Hoping I can fit in another walk this evening to ensure I have done a full 20 000 steps over two days. I wonder what tomorrow will bring?
To read:
Acts 3:6
But Peter said, “I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene—walk!”
The benefits of walking (for those who are able to do so):
To reflect:
Peter offered the man at the gate to the temple what he had: the power to heal in the name of Christ.
What do you have to offer others?
Prayer:
May those who have lost the ability to walk or who have never known it, offer hope to others through the abilties they do have, realising we all have gifts to give and share no matter our mobility. And may none of us take for granted what we are able to do, offer or share in the name of Christ. AMEN
